A Journey Through Time: Scenic Hills Seventh-day Adventist Church

Since its humble beginnings in 1977, Scenic Hills has been a testament to faith, community, and God’s unwavering guidance. In the late 1970s, a group of dedicated families came together with a vision to establish a new church in North San Antonio. From the outset, they faced challenges, but with the guidance of leaders like Ken Matthews and Elder Parkhurst, and a growing sense of purpose, the dream began to take shape.

A pivotal moment came when Mr. Fred Biering, a local rancher, generously donated five acres of land in memory of his mother. His gift was nothing short of a miracle, providing a foundation the church could build—physically and spiritually. From the modest Fellowship Hall, constructed with the love and labor of church members, to the formal

sanctuary that came years later, Scenic Hills has grown into a beacon of hope and a place of worship for countless individuals.

Throughout the years, Scenic Hills has been more than just a building. It has been a sanctuary where lives have been transformed, prayers answered, and God’s love shared. The church’s rich history is filled with moments of joy, perseverance, and a deep commitment to serving the local community.

Today, Scenic Hills stands proudly as a vibrant church family, ever-growing in faith and service. Its legacy reminds us that miracles indeed happen when we walk in faith, trust in God’s plans, and work together. Join us as we continue this journey, welcoming all who seek a deeper connection with God
